Antique Tabriz rug (likely early 20th century) in a large and desirable format. Boasting a traditional medallion-and-corner (medallion and spandrel) layout, a hallmark of classical Persian design. Faded midnight blue to teal field with strong abrash (intentional tonal shifts due to vegetable dyes). A central floral medallion in camel and gold tones, intricate and densely woven.With a complex guard bands and a wide main border, featuring scrolling vines and floral motifs in earthy golds, taupes, and rust. Stylized lotus flowers, palmettes, arabesques, and dense vines typical of high-end city workshop rugs. Very fine weave, cotton foundation with a wool pile, with silk highlights. Even wear and some age-related patina, but no glaring damage or repairs.
