All Over Design Red Mahal Sultanabad Rug. 136 x 214 in.
Large Sultanabad rug featuring an allover lattice of palmettes and floral sprays on a saturated red field. The design is densely packed with large rosettes, angular vines, and curling saz leaves, rendered in navy, ivory, green, and gold tones. The floral motifs are arranged symmetrically, forming a continuous scrolling pattern that maintains a rhythmic flow. The main border is in deep indigo, containing an alternating rosette-and-leaf motif framed by narrow guards. These inner and outer guards use fine vine and blossom patterns in red and ivory to complement the structure of the main border.
